While hip hop has been under much scrutiny lately for its negative aspects, I'd like to focus on much of its positive. Many people, usually non hip hoppers, will say that our music videos are pornographic displays of non talent. However, with a close analysis of hip hop and music videos, one can find many positive lessons we can learn through our videos. I'd like to start with Common's, "Go" video from his 2005 album "BE".

Randomly flipping through channels on a Friday afternoon, I found an old MC Lyte video: Cappuccino. First, I had to check the channel. Lo and behold it was BET. Second, I had to readjust my eyes. Lyte? The Lyte? Finally, I found myself in a temporal wanderlust: ready to search the recesses of memory for what life was like with Lyte.
