 Will a N#g@# always be a N#g@#? A simple question that leaves the door open for two questions to be asked...the first being, (1) who are you calling N#gg@#? And second, (2) N#g@# in the eyes of who? Some African-Americans have made the point that the "N" word is a term of endearment used to embrace and relate as opposed to degrading and tearing down. With this said, I now move into the question I really struggle over. (3) How would a white male answer this question? Due to my college environment and choice of both fraternity and friends, I have for the most part, been sheltered from the white man and his ideals, customs, and racial hatred (both evidently and that which lies dormant waiting only to be triggered.) Of course, I have been overlooked for awards or promotions, with either a white counterpart who was equally or less qualified as me being selected instead. I have been talked about and plotted on, hated, and even ridiculed, but never directly. Never where I could put my finger on it and call it what it was and is because I had experienced it. Some of you are laughing and asking where I have been because this is nothing new. I have heard people tell me to expect racism and when faced with it, to concede defeat and take the "higher road" and understand that this is not the first and will not be the last time this happens. WOW! So now, I am faced with the fact and truth that racism is still alive and well and we, as a people, are expected to simply turn the cheek and pray we are faced with less bold of a white counterpart. I myself had the opportunity to work with an ignorantly bold white man who understood neither his place nor the consequences of his actions.  Now, I stand 6'4 inches, weigh about a buck 92, built like a well-trained athlete, and cannot help but think I am Gods gift to EARTH! I say all this to convey the point that I carry myself like an educated Black man and strive daily to exude excellence. I am feeling myself, but this provides an excellent transition into my story… Imagine sitting at work, minding your own business, chasing that American Dream when you receive an email from a white counterpart. The email contains a link to a picture but for whatever reason you cannot open it. You want to see what it is so you go over to his desk to see what he was trying to send. He is happy to show you and quickly types away at the keys in a haste to open an album book on Facebook. He opens it and proceeds to boldly show you a picture from last Halloween of him dressed in black face, an afro, some stunner shades, and a grill....What do you do?  Comments

Sometimes these people really don't know when they're offending you. I would be 50 cent after Vitamin Water if I got a dollar for everytime I've heard "You guys are some really pretty BLACK girls." So basically you're insulting my entire race....Some of them just have no clue
what do you do?
two words....HUMAN RESOURCES... one question..."Is this type of correspondence acceptable to a business operating in a multi-cultural and increasingly diversifying marketplace?"
