 Years ago, someone said to me “when we as Blackwomen make peace with our hair, we will rule the world.” At the time I thought that was really deep since for years, I spent an awful lot of energy fighting with my hair, and adjusting my lifestyle to accommodate my hairstyle. I spent hours and thousands in hair salons and endured the inevitable chemical burns from relaxers, pressing combs and curling irons, in attempt to eradicate all traces of my own hair texture. |
