DENVER, Colorado (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton, who lost a
bitter battle for her party's nomination for the presidency, on Tuesday
night called for her fellow Democrats to unite behind Sen. Barack Obama. "My friends, it is time to take back the country we love," she told delegates at the Democratic National Convention. "And whether you voted for me, or you voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose. "We are on the same team, and none of us can sit on the sidelines. This is a fight for the future. And it's a fight we must win." She also touched on a common message of the night -- that Sen. John McCain, the Republicans' presumptive nominee, would offer more of the same types of policies of the Bush administration. "You haven't worked so hard over the last 18 months, or endured the last eight years, to suffer through more failed leadership," Clinton said. "No way. No how. No McCain."
